Patio post height

Post heights for patio covers

Posts: 8' posts come standard, in some cases you may need a taller post such as a 9',10' or 11'. When you fill out you will select what post height you want, more than likely you will need to cut your posts down on site to get the perfect fit.

There are a couple reasons you may have to cut your posts. One reason is that almost all slabs have a slope to them and this slope has to be accounted for by modifying the height of your posts. The height of the post is also modified if you need a different length posts than we have in standard lengths, For example if you need a post height of 8'-6" then you would round up and order a 9' post and cut it down to 8'-6".

Alumawood covers use the "H" Post, this post uses a 3" x 3" square post with two 2" x 6 1/2" sideplates, the sideplates sandwich the posts and the single beam, except on double beams where the sideplates terminate at the bottom of the beams. Advertised post heights do not include the 8" the sideplate adds, a 8' post is 8' tall with 8'-8" sideplates.

Decorative round or square columns are available in 8', 10' and 12' heights, the columns can be cut down on site, the base and cap are separate from the main column allowing the columns to be cut to height.
